Karmic Debt Is Not a Punishment—It’s an Invitation
We need to unlearn the idea that karma is a cosmic bat waiting to strike us the moment we slip up. It’s not.
Karmic debt isn’t divine revenge. It’s a divine reminder.
It shows up as patterns, people, illnesses, delays, blockages, even deep-seated fears. Not to destroy us—but to wake us up. To show us where the thread got tangled. To offer us the opportunity to choose differently than we did before, in this life or the last.
Karma is not out to get you. It’s out to grow you.
🧬 What Is Karmic Debt, Really?
Karmic debt is a spiritual imbalance—created when harm, avoidance, or imbalance goes unresolved across lifetimes. This could be harm you caused, harm caused to you that you never alchemized, or even ancestral loops you unconsciously inherited.
Think of it like emotional and spiritual muscle memory.
You might attract the same types of partners who mirror a very old heartbreak, sabotage opportunities right before a breakthrough, repeat unhealthy behaviours even when you’re self-aware, feel haunted by guilt you can’t trace back to anything in this life.
That’s karmic residue. A soul-level echo asking, “Are you ready to choose differently this time?”
And here’s the thing: some karmic debt isn’t even yours to begin with.
🧬 Inheriting What Wasn’t Yours
Let’s talk about ancestral karma.
I’ve lived this. I am this.
I was born into a bloodline with deeply fractured maternal lines, abandonment patterns, women who were silenced, misunderstood, overworked and emotionally neglected. Some were forced to mother children they weren’t emotionally equipped to raise. Others never healed from the betrayal of men who disappeared—physically, emotionally, or both.
When I was born, I carried their scars in my skin, in my nervous system, in my relationships. My body didn’t lie.
I broke out in severe eczema in 2018, my hair fell out in clumps, my body refused to lose weight and I developed hormonal imbalances that left doctors scratching their heads. Nothing worked until I stopped looking at symptoms… and started asking what story my body was trying to tell… That was the year I truly woke up. Not to the glitter of spiritual branding, but to the grit of karmic work.
🔄 The Cycles We’re Meant to Close
I’ve been entangled in karmic relationships that almost broke me. I’ve tried to save people I was never meant to fix. I’ve tolerated dynamics that mirrored past life wounds because I was confusing familiarity with fate… and every time I ignored the red flags, minimized my needs, or gave when I was empty, life would gently (or violently) reroute me back to myself.
Because karma doesn’t let up until the lesson is learned. Not because you’re being punished—but because your soul knows you’re capable of more.
✨ Karmic Debt Isn’t Just About Suffering
One of the biggest myths about karmic debt is that it’s always painful. But that’s not always true.
Sometimes, your karmic invitation shows up in joy. In peace. In ease.
Maybe in a past life, you lived in survival mode—so in this one, your karma is to rest, to experience abundance, to break free from the grind mentality and live from your heart.
But if you’ve been conditioned to believe joy must be earned, you might reject that ease when it arrives. Self-sabotage it. Push it away. That too is karmic, because the invitation isn’t always to endure more.
Sometimes, it’s to receive differently.
💔 Releasing the Shame Around Karmic Loops
It’s easy to feel shame when you find yourself in the same cycle—again.
Why didn’t I learn this the first time? Why do I still attract this energy? Why am I not healed already? But healing karmic debt is not linear. You’re not failing because the test repeated. Sometimes, the soul needs repetition to build spiritual endurance.
And sometimes, you don’t clear karmic debt through effort. You clear it through awareness.
Once you see the pattern for what it is, you reclaim your power to choose.
🔮 How to Know You’re Clearing Karmic Debt
You’ll know because things begin to shift. You start saying “no” faster than you ever used to, you stop romanticizing the past, you release people without needing to vilify them, you don’t explain your boundaries—you embody them. You begin to feel lighter, even when life is heavy. Clearing karmic debt is a subtle power. You might not get applause. You might not even get closure.
But you get your soul back. You get peace. You get alignment.
🪬 My Book Was Born From This Work
I wrote Fragments of a Dying Dream during the years I was in the trenches of this karmic unravelling.
That book is a poetic exorcism. A mirror. A balm. A truth-teller.
Every piece in it came from a place of pain, but also power. From the nights I couldn’t sleep. From the years I questioned whether I was cursed or chosen.
If you’ve ever felt like no one truly understands the depth of what you’re holding—my book was written for you.
